Comparing Apples to PearsMany years ago, the scientific neighborhood made it known to the public that pear-shaped individuals tended to be healthier than apple-shaped individuals. Apple-shaped individuals were warned that they may be at greater risk for heart disease. And of course, these assumptions were based on numerous studies. In short, in apple-shaped people, fat tends to accumulate around the middle which may be an health indicator of potential ticker troubles. Shortly after the apple-pear syndrome, a study was released regarding a relationship in 'ear features and heart disease'. For weeks afterwards, people were checking the size of their ear lobes. Yet another bout of studies led to a health announcement concerning eggs in the diet attributing to heart disease. And yet another study led to a health announcement stating that the Egg Panic was perhaps too premature. That announcement came right after three-fourth's of American egg farmers were egged out of business... Bottom line: Eat healthy, exercise moderately and don't stress out too much if you are apple-shaped because guess what?
Studies also indicate that stress is a major contributor to...yes, you got it....heart disease.
