How Many Calories Per Day For Weight Loss?

There isn't a magical calorie allotment for all dieters. Calorie needs for dieters should be determined on an individual basis.

For example, if Dieter Betty was in need of losing 15 pounds and Dieter Paul was in need of losing 159 pounds, it would be a bit insane to place both on the same amount of calories per day to achieve weight loss.

The amount of calories that you need to achieve weight loss depends upon many factors such as your current weight, height, activity level, gene pool, metabolism speed, and gender.

If you have a lot of weight to lose, you are naturally going to need more calories per day than someone who only has a bit to lose, like Dieter Betty above.  

A dieter should never go below 1,200 calories per day unless specifically directed by their doctor.  Even at this point, the doctor needs to provide a good reason as to why the calorie allotment is so low.
