Shoot towards a two pound goal for weight loss per week.  Your body takes time to adjust to the changes going on both inside and outside of your body. A two pound per week weight loss is a realistic goal.

As a note, when I lost my big baggage several years ago, I ensued a starvation diet and almost killed myself in the process. My average weight loss per week, even during starvation mode remained two pounds.

Since that time, I work toward planning out meals on a daily basis. Before I start out in the morning, I have a good idea of what I am going to eat for the day.
